WS title goes to home player, China in 4 Finals
Here we go, it's final day tomorrow! Host Japan bags 1 title through All Japanese final in WS category. Zhang Nan, Zhao Yunlei and Christinna Pedersen will play two finals with their respective partners.
XD, Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (CHN) v Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen (DEN)
Head-to-head stats : 8-9
The overwhelming favourite Zhang/Zhao continues the impressive record in this year, advanced in 4 finals of SS event with 3 titles already at Birmingham, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and beaten finalist in Jakarta. Their opponent tomorrow is none but familiar foe, Fischer/Pedersen. Both pairs eliminated their lower ranked Korean pairs in straight-sets. It's gonna be close match but the world #1 has advantage to defend their title here due to their fine form in last 12 months.
WS, Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) v Nozomi Okuhara (JPN)
H-2-H : 0-4
Japanese starlets create history to realize all Japan affair at homesoil, this is a repeat of world junior championships final back to 2012 edition when Okuhara defeated her younger compatriots. Both Yamaguchi and Okuhara had difficult semifinal clash against their more established opposition Wang SX and Tai TY respectively, three games with only two points difference. Okuhara is favoured to win over former champion Yamaguchi based on the statistics. Both players have similar fighting spirit and determination also beautiful dropshots, such two bright talents in their tender age.
MS, Lin Dan (CHN) v Viktor Axelsen (DEN)
H-2-H : 1-1
The battle of different generation, former champion Lin Dan who looks in good shape here will try to regain his 2006 title against 21 years old Danish rising star Viktor Axelsen. Last meeting in Sydney, the twice Olympic Champion lost to Axelsen at first round. This is the third SS final in 2015 for young Dane after IND Open and AUS Open lost to Srikanth and Chen Long respectively. It'll be interesting to watch the explosive Axelsen meets the high-calibre player with vast experience Lin D.
WD, Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen (DEN) v Zhao Yunlei/Zhong Qianxin (CHN)
H-2-H : 0-0
It's tricky test for Danish combo to face China new partnerships who's normally high quality pair, Pedersen/Juhl has pretty good outcome so far and still fresh in our memory that DEN WD is recent World Championships silver medalist. It's fantastic result for Zhao/Zhong to cruise into last round in their first international tournament appearance but big question for us whether this will be permanent pair next.
MD, Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong (KOR) v Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan (CHN)
H-2-H : 2-2
The last final is expected to deliver close contest between two pairs, a rematch of DEN Premier final last year. Having three finals in All England, SIN SS and INA Premier in 2015, Fu/Zhang had pretty convincing performance during this season, let's see whether they could turn silver to gold tomorrow against the defending champion and strong favourite Korean pair. Lee YD/Yoo YS had won 1 SS title so far in this year, AUS Open and being runner up in MAS Premier.
